Founded in 2011, the Kindle Classroom Project promotes the love and power of reading by providing Kindles and good books to elementary, middle, and high school students in Oakland and the Bay Area.

Here are some ways you can help out!
When you donate a Kindle, you’re giving a young person unlimited access to a library of thousands of excellent books. If you have a Kindle sitting around and you’re not sure what to do with it, please donate it to a student!
The most important part of the program is ensuring that students have access to books they want to read. When a student requests a book, we buy it immediately. For each $10 you donate, a student gets a new book to read. Even better: The book becomes a permanent part of the Kindle Library, available to all students. And the book lasts forever, never getting lost or worn.
